Autumn (October) in Almaty Region

In October (probably in the second half of the month) we are planning to visit Almaty Region (city of Almaty, Ile-Alatau National Park, Altyn Emel National Park, Charyn Canyon National Park etc.).

Is this (second half of October) an appropriate time to visit these areas?
Which period is otherwise preferred to visit these areas?

Hello Carli,

it will be late if you want to go into the high mountains, above 2000m there could already be snow. But a good time for Altyn Emel, Charyn (perfect temperature), Big Almaty Lake (snowy, but the road will be made clear) and the city itself is beautiful in the fall when leaves are turning colour.
