Problems on how to pay the toll road and consequences

Hey

I am currently traveling through Kazakhstan and will arrive in Almaty soon.
On my way I used the toll road between shymkent and Taraz.
There were no toll stations to pay on the way. I read something online where they stated it is an open system here while around Astana they have hybrid systems.

I think this means that you can only pay online for it?

So I tried to load some tenge on my license number online using https://kaztoll.kz/.

For some reason they won’t take my payment (maybe problems with foreign cards?)

My problem is now that I will leave in a few days to Kyrgyzstan but be back in Kazakhstan for 2 more times I my journey and I am afraid that I will get in trouble for not paying. The penaltys here are quite hard I suppose.

So does anyone has info on what happens if you don’t pay or how one could possibly pay it?

I have exactly the same problem. I am now in Kyrgystan and I have a toll debt of 5000 Tenge.
I tried to pay online with a French Visa card - but the payment is rejected.

Did you find any solution?

You must pay for travel on a toll road in Kazakhstan within seven calendar days, reports the press service of the Ministry of Transport. On the eighth day a penalty is assessed. For individuals, the fine will be five MCI (17,250 tenge), a company – 10 MCI (34,500 tenge)

The website https://kaztoll.kz/ presents 14 payment methods.
Click the "Payment Method" button on the main page and look for the appropriate option. If you took SIM cards in Kazakhstan, you can pay via phone.

I choose "Payment Option " ---> "Credit Card" --> "Visa"

I enter my credit card data and then I get

I tried it several times.
I contacted them. If I get an answer I will let you all know.

Exactly the same thing with mine cards. Used three different models and tried nearly every of the 14 methods
I also contacted them and they said for some reason I don’t have any debt. Maybe they can’t read European plates or so?
How do you know you have exactly 5.000 Tenge of debt my friend?

Go to https://kaztoll.kz/

There is an input field on the left side where you enter your plate number. Then you press the button right to the input field ("Balance").
After a while, I get the info that I have a negative balance of 5030 Tenge

Hmm, that was also where I was looking. But my balance says 0 still. I hope they don’t change their minds.
Will avoid the toll roads from now on and hope that I get along with that.
But please keep me updated on your effort to pay the 5000.

I think at the moment there really isn’t a lot of information on the internet about it, so it would help a lot of people I guess.

And also what I don’t know is how they wanna collect the fee if you don’t pay in time. Because it’s like 30€ and that’s not that bad but who collects it? The border guards? Police? Do they hire private company or so? Doesn’t seem to be made for foreign tourists…

Dear All,

a friend of a friend who lives in Kazakhstan was able to pay my toll online. So for me for the moment the problem is solved. The customer service replyed only with a non-helping message.....
