Re: Registration as turist in Kazakhstan

This is interesting! Either it is a new development (no more registration cards given) or they forgot to give you one. Not sure which one it is.

Having gone through immigration recently, I can say migration cards are still being handed out.

Re: Registration Kazakhstan not required anymore?

Post by victoriareali »

Hi im from argentina.(visa free for 30 days). Entered thecountry by plane and only got one stamp... I really though i dont need to register because i misunderstood the article apparently. Now i came to the migration office saying i lost my migration card.. And try to get a new one double stamped. No luck, even when i showed them different articles. But now, reading this forum i saw people entering or going out overland with one stamp and no hussle.
Can anyone recomend me something? Paying the fine in almaty or trying to go to bishkek with one stamp?
Thanks

You can try showing the law here: http://online.zakon.kz/m/Document/?doc_id=34899851

I always make sure they stamp my card double, even though legally it's not required.

Thanks. Yes now that i read all of this i understand but before coming here i didnt. And now its late.
They told me my country is not part of that law. Do you have some sort of list of the countries that are under this law?
Thanks again

Some news that I thought I would announce here:

A new rule has come into being in 2020. In short:

- no more registration cards
- you need to be registered by your host. You cannot be held responsible for your registration, it's the problem of the host.
- they have 3 days to do it.

More info as we find out more at: https://caravanistan.com/visa/kazakhsta ... tion-ovir/

Immigration card

Post by brunoaroundtheworld »

I entered in Kazakhstan today from Ak-Tilek border point.
They just stamped my passport, but they didn't have any immigration card to fill.
Is it normal? If not, what should I do?

Hey there,

we did not get any registration card at the airport and our host in Aktau didn't register us.
We are from Germany and are allowed to stay 30 days visa-free.

Online I find different confusing information.

Does anyone know, if currently a registration is needed when staying shorter then 30 days?

If yes, would it also be possible to do it directly in the OVIR office in town?

It would be nice to get a feedback from someone who has been recently in Kazakhstan :-)

No registration card, just a single stamp on entry, and no idea if most of the places I stayed registered me - only one gave me a form to sign. But absolutely no issue leaving, just a simple stamp out. New processes seem well embedded now with zero responsibility for the guest to register, so I wouldn’t be worrying about this!
