Lodging in Saty village near the Kolsai and Kaindy lakes

Hi everyone,

We were in Kazakhstan in the summer of 2017 and we visited the Kolsai and Kaindy lakes. Before visiting the lakes, we stayed in Saty, a small village near the lakes. Before doing the trip, we were trying to find information about lodging in Saty and we were not able to find anything so we are sharing this information in case other travelers are wondering.

There are guesthouses where you can stay. There is one big house on the main road with a triangular wood roof with a sign outside saying Guesthouse. The name of the guesthouse is Shinar, which is also the name of the owner of the house. Home cooked meals are possible with or without the lodging. They also provide private taxi transport to Kaindy and Kolsai Lakes. For Kolsai, you can hitchhike as there is enough trafic and we found their price too high. However for Kaindy, the price, which included waiting time, seemed reasonable and you can even share the ride with other people to reduce the cost since the taxi is like a minivan.
