Hi there, when looking for the tickets on the overnight train do we select Almaty 2 station? which is the best website to buy tickets for trains in Kazakhstan. Also can foreign children (9 year old) travel on a child ticket?

Both http://bilet.railways.kz and http://epay.railways.kz should work, I personally used the latter one. The train you're interested in is probably АСТАНА НУРЛЫЖОЛ - АЛМАТЫ 2. Mind that there are two train stations in both cities, so don't get lost on the way to the station The information about discounts is probably somewhere on the website, I don't know anything more, though.

I guess so, just check your station name on the ticket (АСТАНА or АСТ-НУРЛЫЖОЛ), and you'll easily look it up on Google Maps.
