Hi,
I am considering a flight to Semey for one weekend (Friday afternonn - Sunday afternoon). I mainly want to do the trip because of the the old An-24 aircrafts, which are still in use between Almaty and Semey (Jushnoe Nebo Airlines).
However, I´d like to know, wether there is anything special to see in town. I don´t have time or money to add a trip to the nuclear-testsite or Kurchatov / Chagan, so I´ll propably stay in within city-limits. Is there anything other than the tatar-mosque?
Greetings,
Thorsten

Re: Sights of Semey
I wrote a small travel guide to Semey: https://caravanistan.com/kazakhstan/semey/
Nevzorov museum is my top pick, Abay and Dostoyevski museum are a bit more niche (and do not have anything in English). It's a great place for urbex, lots of abandoned factories.
