It seems to be a bit more intense now than in previous years (well, decades) - so let's hope it'll calm down again soon.

Thanks. I did pass through Batken in 2015 while cycling from Bishkek to Dushanbe. In fact we had to wait 4 or 5 days in Batken u til our Tajikistan visa started. Nice town. Such a shame there is so much trouble there now.
I met folks on both sides of the boarder and found them all friendly.

Hope things settle down again soon.

Just an update, crossed from UZ to Taj today on the Panjakent border. 20-25 minutes in total, really easy - German passport.
Shared drive from border to Panjakent was like 1,50 US Dollar. Taxi from Panjakent to Artuch base camp like 40 USD.

Is South of Kyrgyzstan except Batken region safe to visit in 2022?

There is a 6000 meter mountain ridge between the 2 countries in the South of Osh, so no, I don't think any fighting will reach this area.
