Hiking from 15 to 28 July (find a travel buddie)

Post by kumaded »

Hello, travelers \0/

We are going to run this track from July 15 to July 28.
So, my name is Oleg. I am from Russia, but for the last 2 years I live in Bishkek, r. Kyrgyzstan. Last year (summer 2023) I went on a 2-week hike in the mountains of south of the popular lake Issyk-Kul. It was the first time I was in these places, and I must admit I fell madly in love with them. The nature of Kyrgyzstan is unique, incredible, stunning!

And that is why I want to repeat this route this summer. But I have made a few changes to it (in order to pass in those places where I have not been yet). My friend from Russia will go with me on this trek, and our main idea is to find a 3rd person (a foreigner) to exchange experiences and, of course, to practice English.

To summarize the route: it runs along the Terskey Alatoo Ridge. The length of the route: 160 km. The total altitude difference is about 10000m. The average height at which we will go about 3200m. We plan to pass this route in 2 weeks. We are not athletes, so we have no goal to run the route as fast as possible. Our goal is to enjoy every moment of this trek, to memorize every step made. To turn the hike into an unforgettable memory, which will be pleasant to remember decades later. However, it should be understood that even in this case, the upcoming hike requires at least a good physical shape and understanding of the concept of hiking (availability of equipment, understanding of overcoming mountain passes, readiness for long treks).

By and large, we already have everything ready. All that is left is to find a 3rd person, bring him up to speed, buy food and go. Of course, a couple of days before the trek we will have to get acquainted, get to know each other. For this purpose I propose to go to the mountains not far from my house. I consider it the best place for getting to know each other and making impressions.
If anyone is interested in doing this trek with us - please let me know, I am open for communication.
