Postby ironpistols » Sat Dec 05, 2015 9:07 am

Hello everybody!
We are planning a long trip back hope crossing by land Central Asia,
After reading lot of information on Caravanistan, we would like to ask couple of information,
maybe someone could give us a suggestion, advice.. ect..

So... We would love to buy a car in Bishek, Kyrgysztan and then travel...
crossing, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan..

Is it possible?
Which kind of information we may known before?
:D

Thank you so much in advance guys!

I know Ryan from Iron Horse Nomads (http://ihn.kg/) in Bishkek has dealt with this a number of times, so he might be a good resource to start with.

Thanks for that,
do you think it would be a good start with the car market in Bishek, as well?

I imagine you would be able to find *something* to buy without much problem - the issue would be making sure you have all the necessary documentation to have it registered and then take it out of the country to Tajikistan and onwards.

It shouldn't be an issue. Buy a car, get plates and have it registered on your name, and off you go. There are no restrictions on Kyrgyz cars driving in other countries.
