yellow fever vaccination - entry requirement

Post by lisalai »

There's a requirement to have a yellow fever vaccination upon entry to Kyrgyzstan and because we will be arriving from Almaty, it counts as a yellow fever area.
Our yellow fever certificates expire this year , however in 2016, the WHO have said all yellow fever vaccinations are life long validity so to ignore expiry dates
I have concerns that the expiry date listed on my certificate may cause the authorities to deny me entry into the country, has anyone experienced this?

I have never been checked for any type of vaccination coming into Kyrgyzstan - been there about a dozen times.

I was five times in Bishkek and Osh and nobody asked me about fever vaccination. I have it in my yellow book.

Hi,

you need a yellow fever vaccination if you're coming from an area where yellow fever is endemic. That's a number of countries in South America and Africa. Otherwise, there is no such requirement (there is absolutely no yellow fever anywhere in Central Asia).
