No water in Osh - August 2018

Hi all, I arrived in Osh yesterday evening and unfortunately received info from the host of homestay that there is no water in the city so no shower/western-style-toilet available. I especially choose more expensive stay with all those facilities since I'm suffering from stomach illness after Tadjik M41. Is it often to have such water "blackouts" in Osh? How many days it may last? In the morning there is still no water and I'm thinking if I should relocate to different city (where), or maybe wait one more night. I asked host but he couldn't help in answer when water will be back. I'm wondering how big hotels solves such issues, I can't imagine few hundred guests in one place without a water, maybe he is not telling the truth...

He is probably telling the truth. Happens all the time in Soviet countries. Hot water could be turned off for months in summer, but all water, should not be more than a day. Sadly, there is nothing they can do about it. Only 5-star hotels can buffer against that.
