[Pakistan] PCR test in Quetta (or on the way to Iran)

Post by merodrem »

Hello fellow travellers,

I need to go to Iran from Pakistan, I'm not vaccinated against COVID, so if I understand I have to provide a PCR test from the last 72h. OK BUT, we agree to say that it takes 2 full days to reach the border from Quetta, and pretty much one more day from Islamabad (where there will be tests for sure). If there is no way to get a PCR test in Quetta, I can't make the 72h deadline. Any info? Iran looks like "you need a PCR test, and there's no way to make one". I can't be stuck on the road for such a silly reason.

I travelled the other way in october, and i didnt pay attention about covid-tests at Taftan border, nobody asked me exiting Iran, they did when i entered Iran in Bazargan at the TR-IRN border. If you really need one there will be facilities in Taftan also, and from Islamabad you wont make i to the border in 3 days, it took me 5.5 days driving my own vehicle. the problem is the endless escort-changes !! Taftan is a little The wildwild west everybody gets bribed overthere both sides. Just go and try, dont bother to much.

Well yes, Iran asks. Not Pakistan. A friend got rejected at the iranian border because he had no PCR test. Apparently you were asked also, this is where I wonder where to do the bloody test :D
