Hi all,
Kind of a silly tourist question, but I haven't found much info digging through old threads or elsewhere online.
I'm traveling in Uzbekistan and leaving via Tashkent Airport in a few days. It has been a great trip other than the August heat . I purchased a few Suzani items during my stay - a tapestry as a wedding gift for a friend, a robe, and a table runner, plus a few pillowcases as gifts. Of course I was told some of the items are "antiques," while other are clearly newly made. I have managed to get myself pretty worried about customs at the airport: since I bought these things in bazaars, I didn't get receipts or certificates that they were not of cultural value.
How concerned about this should I be? I can spend my last day in Tashkent trying to go back to the stalls and asking, but I have also heard incidentally that bringing out a few Suzani as a tourist won't be any cause for alarm. Based on the terms outlined here (https://advice.uz/en/document/1894?keyw ... al%20value) I don't believe I am violating any rules, but I'm also not sure how to prove that without a certificate.
Thank you all in advance - this forum has been a great place of info for my travels!
