Shared taxi in Fergana Valley
Hello, just wonder, is it easy to travel by shared taxi between cities in the Fergana Valley? (between Kokand, Rishton, Margilon, Fergana, Andijon, Dostuk border) How long do I usually have to wait for a taxi to fill up? Do I get shared taxi in front of Avtovokzal? Thanks for information!

Re: Shared taxi in Fergana Valley
You can easily find shared taxis between the cities you mentioned.
A good place to look for them is near the bus stations where you may also find marshrutkas/buses going to your destination.
As for how long to wait for a taxi to fill up, it is a question of timing and luck, sometimes you get there just as a taxi has left, so you'll have to wait in the front seat for a while, sometimes you are the last passenger needed and you'll depart right away.
You can shorten your waiting time by paying for additional seats or even hiring the taxi for yourself.
Depending on the place and the distance you may have to wait longer or pay more later in the day, because of lower demand and taxi drivers being more reluctant to drive long distances away from their homes when they may have to drive back with a half-empty car.
Between Andijan and the Dostuk border crossing you can pick up a taxi from anywhere in Andijan, the 24/7 opening hours of the border guarantee a steady flow of people in both directions.
