we also took loads of extra diesel from Iran into turkmenistan, and out of turkmenistan to Uzbekistan. No problem at all, although a very throrough boarder check leaving Turkmenistan and entering Uzbekistan.
Found new diesel in Tortkol at a gasstation.

Price is between 3000 som (black market) to 3800 som (station) per liter.

Although the value of som vs USD has dramatically gone down on the black market, prices for transport, food,... are largely still the same in Uzbekistan. It's really a great bargain atm.

At the sayyoh hotel in tashkent we got yesterday 60 liter of diesel at 4.500 Sum. It cam from the black market and the hotel owner arranged it for us.

We found diesel in torktkul but quality was very poor, not entirely sure if that caused our fuel pump to breakdown but might be.
However we had A spare and in small town Guzor on our Way to Denau we found A mechanic who put it in. Not So remarkable but the fact he spoke dutch (!) was. Great adventure
