Possibility of obtaining Uzbek visa at any Uzbek embassy

Post by vid051 »

I sincerely apologize for probably bothering the community, but I would like to know if it possible for a citizens where there is no Uzbek embassy to obtain Uzbek visa in any Uzbek embassy?

To be more precise, I'm a Croatian citizen and there is no Uzbek embassy in Croatia. The nearest one is in Vienna, Austria, but the travel to Vienna and back is time consuming and not free at all. So, I have a plan and I hope, forum members will confirm if it is possible.

I plan to visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. I don't need visas for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, but this is not the case with Uzbekistan. So, I will first visit Kazakhstan and I hope that, after I have obtained LOI through Caravanistan, I can obtain Uzbek visa at Uzbek embassy/consulate in Almaty.

So, my question is if it is possible? Do I have to announce my visit to the particular embassy where I plan to obtain visa or I just need to appear there with LOI and some other additional documentation?

Thanks for your inputs.

Great, great, great...

Your posts are telling me that I have understood how Uzbek visa functions. It would be a pity if the requirements from Uzbek government were strict like some other countries that allow obtaining a visa only at designated embassies. I was really afraid that I am forced to travel to Vienna 500 km one way! Also, even the post delivery is pretty expensive. Honestly, I would give up from traveling to Uzbekistan if this was the case. Fortunately it isn't, so I will visit Uzbek embassy in Almaty because Kazakhstan is the first country where I will land.

One more thing, do I have to mention somewhere in advance (maybe during LOI issuing) that I plan to use exactly this (Almaty) embassy?

One more thing beside the above mentioned... I can see that we all talk about Uzbek embassy in Almaty, but wouldn't it be more logical that the embassy is situated in Astana, the real capital of Kazakhstan? Probably they have some kind of representation even there? Maybe I could use it then? I will arrive directly to Astana using cheap flight from Budapest offered by Wizzair.

Thanks a lot, really.

Thanks a lot.

Just one question more. I have read, here on Caravanistan`s "Embassy reports" that the embassy in Almaty is open for applications from 3 to 5:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Is this correct or I just don`t understand something? I mean, @Ewcyna has mentioned that he/she has accomplished the procedure within 3 hours. So, how is that possible if the embassy works from 3 to 5:30 pm?

Please, just this explanation and I promise, I will not bother any more.

Thanks again.
