Uzbekistan Airways: Q&A

Postby davidalanlittle » Thu Jun 28, 2018 6:56 pm

Hi. I'm looking to sort out a flight from Tashkent to Astana at the beginning of November 2018. It seems the availability on the usual booking sites stops about a week before that, and I just wondered if it's because the flights for winter haven't been released yet; or, that they just don't fly that route in the winter months?

The alternatives on Astana Airways seem to be going up on price, so any suggestions or any any experiences of previous years would be very welcome! Thanks!!

Probably just have to wait a little bit longer, they fly all year round.

Uzbekistan Airways: Q&A

Postby netllama » Thu Sep 27, 2018 2:54 am

I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to central Asia. I intend to spend a large chunk of my time in Uzbekistan. I'm trying to sort out domestic flight schedules (on Uzbekistan Airways), and I'm seeing conflicting information. The Caravanistan page's schedule ( https://caravanistan.com/transport/flig ... c-flights/ ) is significantly different from the official airline's schedule ( https://www.uzairways.com/en/timetable? ... 2018-10-25 ) .

Is it safe to assume that Caravanistan's page is out of date?

Also, how frequently does Uzbekistan Air's flight schedule change? If I book a flight today for a flight a few months from now, am I at risk of ending up with a schedule change that wrecks my travel plans?

thanks!

Yes, it's safe to assume Caravanistan's page is out of date :-) I will discuss with Saule, now that online booking is available I think we can take this page down.

Don't know about schedule changes.

Uzbekistan Airways Website Question

Postby RoverAllover » Fri Sep 28, 2018 4:27 pm

Hi All

I am planning an itinerary starting in Astana -

So far it's looking like 3 Days in Astana, 2 Days in Almaty, 1 Day in Tashkent, 2 Days in Samarkand, Fly back to Tashkent and then onto Delhi.

My Question is that I am having problems buying a Ticket from Tashkent - Delhi on the Official Uzbekistan Airways website

- Everytime I select 1Way it defaults to a 'roundtrip' and a screen asks for the return flight dates. I have tried it on several different browsers -

Anybody have any experience with this? Skyscanner only has options to buy through third-parties

Uzbekistan Airways Question

Postby RoverAllover » Sun Oct 14, 2018 7:54 pm

Hi all,

I have another thread about this but no-one has answered yet.

I am hoping somebody who has booked with Uzbekistan Airways can be helpful.

First question, google search for Uzbekistan Airways and a lot of the results are fake websites,

Wikipedia Says that this is the official Website https://book.uzairways.com/en/

There are a lot of good flights here - I am looking to book a flight from Astana to Tashkent.

4-5 Days in Uzbekistan and then a flight to Delhi -

Problem is that this website loads the 'return' date everytime I am trying to book a one-way flight.

I know the flight exists because skyscanner has the 1-Way flight

https://www.skyscanner.net/transport/fl ... 1902131125

All with 3rd Party though, no option to book directly with Uzbekistan Airways.

On the Uzbekistan Airways website https://book.uzairways.com/en/

This same flight TAS > DEL - always defaults back to the 'Roundtrip' when trying to book 'One Way'

It's very flustrating - I would just like to buy the ticket to make up the itinerary.

Hopefully there is somebody here on this forum who has flown With Uzbekistan Airways and can advise, did you book with 3rd party or Direct?

Many Thanks

If it is difficult to do it yourself, use a travel agent. They can access the Amadeus booking system and should be able to sidestep the bug. It will cost you 5$ more.

Thankyou Steven - If it was simply a case of paying $5 more that wouldn't be a problem. In fact most of the Third Party providers selling tickets for Uzbekistan Airways are Cheaper!

However booking flights via a third party is never a good idea - One look at any of these providers on Trustpilot shows that people get stuck when there is any kind of schedule change or other problem - Almost unilaterally the Airlines would have been happy to help the customer if they had bought the tickets directly with the airline in the first place, but as the ticket was bought via a third party....

I've had problems with 3rd party tickets several times in the past, losing expensive tickets and even being stranded a few times.

Still these are the options on Skyscanner(Below) - And then there is this site https://uzbekistanairways.uk.com/ where the ticket can be booked but there is no indication if the website is real as there are no information sections on the website to explain who the company is and if they are an official portal for Uzbekistan Airways/ I emailed them asking if they were an official website for Uzbekistan Airways and they said that www.uzairways.com is the offical site without elaborating further. I can't decide if https://uzbekistanairways.uk.com/ is a fake website/a travel broker or an initiative by Uzbekistan Airways itself.

I have emailed Uzbekistan Airways on there official site to see if they can help with the booking problem, I don't however know if the message was sent as there was no confirmation screen after clicking 'Send Message', it just returned to a blank screen.

If anybody has booked previously with Uzbekistan Airways - How did you book, did it work out okay? - Many Thanks

@Steven

Just out of interest, what would you consider a reputable travel agency to buy airline tickets with Uzbekistan Airways - From the above list nothing is jumping out as a great choice - I wouldn't class any of them as travel agents in the classical sense.

For Example from Bravofly's own website about their company

"Bravofly is an Internet-based travel website that specialises in flight search and comparison."

That's not a travel agent, they have no duty of care, they are just re-selling tickets.

Didn't wan't to get into specifics but here I am asking about how to buy flights with Uzbekistan Airways on the only forum I can find that specialises in travel in Uzbekistan.

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/trave ... guages=all

Look at the problems people have faced with travelgenio.

Which travel agent would you recommend, there must be some in Uzbekistan or Astana that are reputable, surely?

Or it the above list the only option?

Had no reply from Uzbekistan Airways yet so have no idea if the website will be fixed anytime soon to buy 1-way tickets directly.

Also what is this website https://uzbekistanairways.uk.com/ is it reputable

Many Thanks
