Thanks fuller, I've already booked the sharq trains, but I know the cancellation fee is pretty low (10%?) if I change my mind. I'm not that flexible on dates or times, but will keep checking, thanks

To give an update :
-Tashkent to Samarkand fast train became available with 10s of business class seats about a week in advance, I booked it and went to the station and refunded my sharq train with minimal problems
-Samarkand to Bukhara only had one seat available at most, so we took the sharq, which was a nice contrast to the very nice high speed trains

As such it all worked out nicely in the end, no need for an agent either and overall was very impressed with the uzbekistan train booking system now.
