May 2015

Bank: 2501 sum for 1 US dollar.
Black market: 4350 sum for 1 dollar.

As reported by Jpinilla here (http://caravanistan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1044), by the end of May it already went up to 5000 som to the dollar on the black market.

Been exchanging at 4500 som per dollar recently. Rate confirmed by most of the guest houses I visited. Recently (this week) I've been having some trouble getting that rate from moneychangers, might just be bad negotiating. But I got 4450 a few days ago, so it should still be 4500 or close.

Thanks. Sounds correct. I think the 5000 quoted end of May was due to a liquidity shortage at the National Bank.

Same recent rates for me. It seems to be quite stable all over the country:

1 USD = 4450...4550 UZS
1 EUR = 4750...4850 UZS

You can still bargain a bit.
