Hi All,
I'm going to trek in Fann Mountains at the end of August. I'm planning the route and wondering about ice/snow conditions on Chimtarga Pass, is it neccessary to have crampons? Does anyone has any experience on this pass at the similar time or maybe someone went through it recently?
A lot thanks!
Lukasz

Re: Fann Mountains, Chimtarga Pass
Hi.
When exactly are you going to go there?
I just went back from Chimtarga pass. No snow at all.
Perfect weather. But 3 days before me there was a rain with little snowfall.
If you're going not later than 20th August I don't think there will be any snow. All my trek from Allaudin through Chimtarga to Big Allou no snow at all. Wonderful weather. It doesn't look like it can change much in 2 weeks.
Although you know it's high altitude and mountains.
I'm not sure.
Better to ask locals when you get to a base camp.
