Fly-fishing in Kyrgyz or Pamirs

Hi all

I've been challenged with working some river fly-fishing into our itinerary. I was thinking either doing some while driving the Pamir Highway, or doing some when we travel to Kochkor. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Phil

Bulunkul is known for its fish, its a lake not a river, though. Is that ok for fly-fishing?

I myself am fairly ignorant but I understand that lake fishing quite different to river fishing. So it's the rivers I'm aiming for. I heard that fishing might be good in the Suusamyr or Kazarman valleys, or perhaps even in the valleys close to Bishkek, but it would be great if anyone could corroborate that?

Travellers to Central Asia are not much into fishing, but Central Asians are! So I would say the next best thing is to talk to locals wherever you go and improvise based on your information on the spot. If that is at all possible.
