Planning to do the KKH this Fall; Giglig to Kashgar

I am planning to do the Karakoram Highway this Fall and ignore if there is access to China specifically, Xinjian. My plan is travel Gilgit to Kashgar. Ignore if China is still closed due the pandemic of covid-19, and/or if my 10 year visa for China is good for Xinjian (I am fully vaccinated).
If anybody has any info, will appreciate it.

I think China is very unlikely open their border this year. I’m planning to do the KKH next year (September) but I think next September is still very optimistic, given how they have responded to COVID’s cases. The good side is China has reduced to quarantine days from 14 days to 7 days plus 3 days at home for foreigners…
