Thanks for this great forum Steven.
I noticed i did not get an e-mail for a DM, could be that I changed the default, but don't think so?
If not, I would suggest to set the notification for Direct Messages to include e-mail by default.
There are lot of people with specific knowledge/experiences on the forum, but I don't think they would visit regularly, especially when their trip is over. Most travellers are happy to help and getting a hold on them would be much easier this way.
Caravanistan improvements: suggestions?
Re: Caravanistan improvements: suggestions?
Thanks Erikkkk, I'll have a look if that's possible. You're right, people stop visiting once their trip is over since most people only visit Central Asia once. The DM only reaches people once they log in again and it leaves your outbox.
Not a perfect system, I'll see if it can be improved.
In the meantime, there is quite a bit of info already online so we'll have to make do with that. If there is someone in particular you really want to reach out to let me know I can find their email address.

Thanks Steven, maybe you could give I35TX my email address (the other way around might be a privacy issue?).

I finally had a look into this: By default, since phpBB 3.1, email notifications for private messages are not enabled, so users need to opt in themselves. Administrators cannot force this setting for all users with standard phpBB tools.

Hi,
On "Tajikistan Visa" page there is a small mistake in the summary. It states eVisa is for 45 days while in fact it is for 60 days.

Thank you for this great source of information!
In the Kazakhstan travel guide you state that it is very difficult to pay with cash there. I have just benn cycling from Samarkand to Almaty and then to Kegen and I never had such issues! Everybody accepted cash everywhere. Also most locals seem to pay with cash, I saw only young people using the app.
Also in China everybody happily accepts cash, at least in Kashgar and Urumqi.
