Hey all,
I've got a couple of months in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan from July to September and I was hoping to do a little volunteer work (up to a week). Environmental/conservation work would be my preference, but I'm open to other suggestions. Any ideas, links or resources would be great.
Thanks!

I'm not sure you could actually do anything useful in a week. What are your qualifications/expertise in the field?

You can contact the following agencies in Tajikistan, Khorog and Dushanbe:
Aga Khan Agency for Habitat in Khorog, Tajikistan. https://www.akdn.org/our-agencies/aga-k ... cy-habitat
Little earth (a small organization in Dushanbe) http://leworld.org/index.php/english/our-activities
you can also work with us (Green Sunday) on a small initiative (creating awareness about water pollution problem in Khorog). Contact us at https://www.facebook.com/KhorogGreenSundays/

Re: Stan volunteering
Have you looked at workaway? They do have a signup fee which is for a year, but they have listings for all Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, not Uzbekistan though

Thanks for your replies.
I don't have any specific expertise in this field. I generally just do days here and there when the opportunity presents itself; tree planting, beach clean-ups etc.
Thanks Nazrulo, those options look good. Will look into them further for sure.
Likewise with workaway.

Re: Stan volunteering
You can check out WWOOFindependents.org if you are interested in working on (organic) farms. There are several hosts listed for the -stans and you can look at their profil even without registration (sometimes even contact them via phone/Skype). You get accommodation and food for your work. It was great opportunity to get to know great people and experience rural life in the countries we visit.
However, most hosts require you to stay at least for one week or even more, which also made sense for us as it takes some time to get acquainted and feel at home.
