Tajikistan visa from Samarkand?

Hello all

Coming from the East/South is there a place to obtain a Tajik visa?
Lets say from Samarkand for example....?
From Samarkand I'd like to go into the Pamir Highway and it would be a big detour (as I'll be by bike) to have to go all the way to Tashkent for a visa.

Any ideas out there? Get a train/bus to Tashkent and back?

The only place to get a Tajik visa in Uzbekistan is Tashkent. Another option for you might be Tehran or Baku.

If you don't want to go all the way up, best thing to do is to store your bike with a hotel or CS'er and take a train to Tashkent. The high speed train is fast, comfortable and inexpensive.
