Hei,
Im just back from Iran and my experience there was that:
- small shops in big cities open from 9-10 til late at night (sometimes closing between midday and 2) everyday
- in smaller towns, those shops may close on Fridays (the weekend in Iran) and holidays
- moneychangers, official places and travel agencies close on Fridays and are open from 9-10 to around 17.
Is that the same for the other countries in central asia?
Shops are generally open 8am to 8pm. Supermarkets are often 24/7. They are open every day. Museums have more western opening hours, and are usually closed on Mondays.
