I entered with a Visa on Arrival today - British passport holder.

I contacted the Tajik embassy in the UK and spoke to the Ambassadors office who confirmed it was ok. I then got them to send me an email confirming such. (Happy to forward this confirmation to anybody if they'd like it.)

Entering was very easy. Once you depart the shuttle bus at the terminal, there are three visa windows to your left. It costs $60 USD per person, in cash, takes a couple of minutes, and takes a full page in your passport. There's a white customs leaflet next to the window. We did NOT need to fill this in, although some nationalities did.

The customs line itself took quite long, and was pretty unorganised.

Good luck to those following.

Hi Andrew I’m planning on entering soon as my eVisa is taking ages too (UK citizen). Would you mind forwarding the Letter you spoke of? My number is +447908503053 if WhatsApp is better!! Thank you

Hi Andrew, another one kindly requesting the email if possible!

Also, do you need to pay the 60$ irrespective of how long you stay in the country? Was only planning four or five days

Hi everyone,

Wanted to share my experience of obtaining the VoA at Dushanbe airport, after my EVisa was not processed.

I am a UK citizen just hoping to see Dushanbe and the Fann mountains, for 5 days or so.

Had to wait quite some time for an official to arrive at the Visa desk. After that, they asked if I had a letter of invitation, which I don't. They told me that in order to get a VoA I therefore needed to pay 95 US dollars. I said that I understood the fee was 60 dollars but the guy says "I know my work" and that the only alternative is to return to my point of entry (Tashkent).

In the end I paid and they gave me a multi entry visa for 60 days.

Not sure if this is a recent change of policy but be warned 🙂↕️

We flew into Dushanbe from Tashkent yesterday. We are UK citizens. Went to visa kiosks, we were extremely polite/friendly to the guy and asked for VOA. We are staying for 7 days. We were given VOA for 30 days for $60 each. We were asked if we had hotels booked (which we did and printed off confirmation just in case, but these were not checked); and they were happy with this.
We are sorry the other post for being charged more.

Thanks mate. Key question is did you have a letter of invitation? That's what they pulled me up for.

LOI in theory should no longer be required to issue any type of visa. However, immigration officers may require it to earn some extra money from you especially if you do not look like one that will stand your ground. Most people will pay just to get through.
