Uhm - I'm confused... Aren't German citizens visa-free for up to 30 days?

Yes, yes, I understand. But does that mean that I won't be able to enter the country visa-free for 30 days anymore? I'm not interested in getting a visa (either on arrival or applying for it in advance). Or am I missing anything obvious?

Any British passport holders entered recently with a VOA? Entering next week, and my evisa hasn't arrived. Do I need an LOI? If so, best place to get one?

I entered with a Visa on Arrival today - British passport holder.

I contacted the Tajik embassy in the UK and spoke to the Ambassadors office who confirmed it was ok. I then got them to send me an email confirming such. (Happy to forward this confirmation to anybody if they'd like it.)

Entering was very easy. Once you depart the shuttle bus at the terminal, there are three visa windows to your left. It costs $60 USD per person, in cash, takes a couple of minutes, and takes a full page in your passport. There's a white customs leaflet next to the window. We did NOT need to fill this in, although some nationalities did.

The customs line itself took quite long, and was pretty unorganised.

Good luck to those following.

Steven, I'm now confused;
I booked a flight for Sept. from Almaty to Dushanbe and I don't have a visa because I thought German passport can get visafree to Tajikistan.
What is now the truth? Do you know something exactly ?

Thanks,

You don't need a visa, you just need to register at OVIR if you stay for more than 10 days.

Visa on arrival Dushanbe

Post by Lagerfeld »

Thank'a lot, Steven, now I know,
I booked a hostel in Dushanbe for 7 nights, this will be enough for the 1st time. I come by plane from Almaty.
After 30 days in Almaty / KZ I must go out than I can come back again.

to be precise - more than 10 working days. Saturdays and Sundays are not included.
In the beginning of August I was in Tajikistan for a total of 12 days. For "peace of mind" I went to OVIR and did not have to register.
