is anyone aware of shared taxis/ marshutkas etc between these villages in wakhan?

There are some, but if you're in the middle of the valley they may be full when they pass (especially if you're close to Ishkashim). You can probably flag down any passing car that isn't full, and your homestay may be able to arrange something or find out when someone is going up/down the valley.
As a general rule, traffic towards the larger market towns (in this case Ishkashim or all the way to Khorog) leaves in the early morning and return trips leave in the afternoon/evening.

Well, there will always be locals going all the way up the valley to Langar, as well as coming down from there, so shared transport is definitely possible. You can ask at the Ishkashim-bound share taxi lot in Khorog or ask around in Ishkashim (around the market or on the main road). I visited Vrang using local transport, and povertyjetset has a user report here detailing her/his trip up the valley on public transport.
