I am confused about the internet/cellphone connection status in GBAO and on the Pamir Highway. Is there internet or cellphone connection along the route, since the government is restoring internet in the region or is it too remove for even the slightest signal?

The further away from Khorog, the weaker the signal becomes. Also, going outside the villages, very likely the signal will become too weak. In Alichur, the signal is very bad. Your can send an Whatapps message at best. Murghab is ok, and no signal at all in Karakul.
