Hey, we think about our way in Tajikistan..
We are from Germany and want to travel the Pamir Highway till the Karakul Lake and then back (because the border to Kyrgyztan is closed).
How long will we need for this? Because we have the option to apply for an e-visa with 45 days in Tajikistan and without registration or just 30 days visa-free but we would had to registrate us within 3 days.
What do you mean, do we need 45 days or are 30 days enough for our time in Tajikistan?

Many people do a 4WD tour of the Pamirs in less than 10 days.
If you use public transport, and you go trekking, you can spend a month.

Take the 45 days visa if possible. You will be more comfortable if something unpredictable happens and the registration at OVIR office can be annoying.

Hello there
If you are visiting Tajikistan under the Visa Free Regime you have to register within 10 working days not 3 days (Saturday, Sunday and official public holidays are not counted). You can register in Dushanbe, Khorog or even Murghab if you arrive there before 10 working days.
Regarding the time required for the Pamir Highway please have a look at the below itinerary to get a better idea:
Day 1. Dushanbe-Qalai Khumb by taking the North Route which is more scenic. On the way you will cross the Khobu Robot Pass 3300m with a breathtaking view of the mountain peaks in the surroundings (you can start driving straight from the airport if you arrive early morning. Many of our guests have done the same in the past)
Day 2. Qalai Khumb -Khorog
Day 3. Khorog-Vakhan valley (stops-Garmchasma hot spring, Ishkashim centre and arrive in Rin village to stay overnight)
Day 4. Vakhan valley cont.. stops - Yamchun and Qahqaha forts, Bibi Fatima Hot Spring, Buddhist stupa in Vrang and overnight in Zong village.
Day 5. Zong-Bulunkul lake. Stops-Langar petroglyphs, Khargushi Pass (4400m), Bulunkul and visit Yashilkul lake viewpoint for watching the beautiful sunset.
Day 6. Bulunkul-Murghab by short stops at the Alichur village, Bash Gumbez ruined caravanserai, (Ak Balyk or white fish pond) and arrive in Murghab.
Day 7. Murghab-Karakul lake/village by short stops at the Ak Baital pass (4655m-the highest point of the Pamir highway trip). Yurt stay at the Karakul village.
Day 8. If you would like to avoid repeating the M41 on your return journey after 30 km drive from the Karakul lake divert from the Pamir Highway towards the Bartang valley (if you prefer a bit of adventure trip-Last year also due to the border closure the loop via the Bartang valley became popular among our guests). Shorts stops near the Meteorite crater, lunch stop near the shepherd summer pasture, Kor Jar Pass with a view to the Tanimas valley which leads to the Fedchenko glaciers-the largest off polar glacier in the world). Arrive in the village of Gudara or Sawnob and stay overnight.
Day 9. Drive the Bartang valley further down and do a short 2hours trek to the Jizeu valley by crossing a foot bridge (safe) and hike 8km to the village. This is one of the popular trek in the Pamirs.
Day 10. Explore the Jizeu village by hiking further up and visit the few cascade of small lakes across the tiny valley. Camping is perfectly possible for one night.
Day 11. Hike back to the Jizeu foot bridge and drive to Qalai Khumb by short stops near the Vomar Fort with a nice view to Afghanistan across the Panj River. Arrive at Qalai Khumb and stay overnight.
Day 12. Drive to Dushanbe via the South Route.
Hope this helps.
best regards

Re: Pamir Highway - Tajikistan - How long will we need?
Is it possible to do a pamir highway roadtrip in one week from Dushanbe and back?
I am looking into the last week of June, like 24-30.
Thanks

Possible yes, but that's a lot of time spent in the car. And you won't enjoy all the hiking possibilities.

From Dushanbe to the Tajik border outpost in front of the Kyzyl Art pass, you can drive by car slowly in three days. Even if you go along the classic route of the Pamir Highway through Tavildara and the Khaburobot pass.
