Khujand Istaravshan Dushanbe

Hi Everyone, would it be feasible to take transport from khujand to Istaravshan, spend a few hours looking around, and then getting a shared taxi on to Dushanbe?


I wouldn't mind spending a night in Istaravshan but I'm not finding accommodations.

Khujand to Istaravshan, yes, frequent transport.
I guess there are shared taxis in Istaravshan to Dushanbe, but no personal experience.

About finding accomodation in Istaravshan:
with the help of a local friend I reserved in Hotel Sadbarg, but this was absolutely overpriced (30 $ for the cheapest room), with lots of noise, no breakfast etc.

Somebody told me that there are guesthouses, but even my local friend did not know how to concact them. Perhaps you can ask around in Khujand? Or in your shared taxi?

In my opinion Istaravshan is absolutely worth a stopover, at least for a stroll in old town and a visit to the bazaar.
