Entered with e-visa by train. No problem. But you have to show the print. Boarding guards had no electronic equipment. They also stamped my visa print.

Yes.
I applied for two evisas.
First time I uploaded a pdf file and it was no problem.
Second time I tried to upload the exactly same file and got an error.
I tried a few times, but in the end I converted it to jpeg and was fine...

I’ve been waiting on my Evisa since October 9. Sitting in Samarkand, hoping it will come through. I heard a rumor through a friend in Dushanbe that the system may have been hacked. I have a friend with a US passport who applied on Oct 2 and received his on Oct 10.

I can tell from email read receipts that none of the emails (as listed on the caravanistan info post) are being read.

One in particular seems to be down altogether:
“There was a temporary problem delivering your message to [email protected]. Gmail will retry for 47 more hours. You'll be notified if the delivery fails permanently.“

My current new plan is to fly in from Tashkent and get a visa on arrival. It means paying for two visas but moving forward rather than waiting indefinitely.

Just wanted to share in case anyone is in a similar boat or planning to apply. If you have any insights on what’s happening, please share

Another quick update. I got this a full day after emailing them.

Hello:

Did anybody else received the faomous email "Overstay Penalty".
I got a 45 days visa and only was 7 days in the country but, anyway they sent me the email. I spoke with my Consulate and told me that I shouldn´t care but, anyway, I would really appreciate getting a writting answer on this. Did anybody have the same situation? Any email address which could help?

Thank you and best regards,

You're not alone for what it's worth. Seems like a lot of people got hit with it.

I never got a reply from the MFA or tourism board. If you plan on the e-visa, start the process a month early, check for recent reports and cross your fingers. Safest solution is to just fly in.

I have visited Tajikistan a number of times and love the country but man, it is tragic that they can't get their act together. While KZ/KG/UZ are visa-free for many countries, Tajikistan fails to issue visas while forgetting about payments and sends accusatory emails because of avoidable glitches. For a country that needs tourism as much, if not more, than its neighbors, this is bureaucratic negligence
