There is still one airline which flies, Pactec, and has a promotional fare at the moment of $US100 per person between Dushanbe and Khorog, or VV, but it's just a little Cessna, so might be tough to get tickets for the days you want, plus I'm sure in such a small plane the baggage allowance is quite restrictive.

Some updated information from Pactec.

Starting in June they will fly Tuesday and Friday. The fare is USD200 per person: Baggage allowance is 10 kg. They can work with ground transport to send excess baggage.

They sometimes get delayed for a day or 2. I asked about September, and day said that September was a good month for flying.

I had booked this flight for September 17th, but is was canceled . It has been canceled since june/july. They say it was because of a conflict with the army. They did not know when they will start back up

Dear all,

Are there any news on this Dushanbe-Khorog flight by helicopter ? I have been looking for info online but could not find any.
I would like to take this flight with a friend in july, and go from Khorog to Osh via the Pamir highway.

As far as I know, the helicopters operating are either AKDN (NGO people only), the government, plus Somon Airlines. But the Somon Airlines helicopters are apparently only being used for government officials and foreign diplomats and VIPs (UN, World Bank, etc.). It's basically a government charter flight. But I'm not totally sure on that. I just know they are not trying to book tourists at the moment.
