Hi folks,
I'm planning to travel from Uzbekistan to Dushanbe in the week between Christmas and New Year and spend the first two weeks of January in Tajikistan. Around one week of my time in country will be on the Pamir Highway, from Dushanbe to Osh, using public transport.
Should I expect any delays at the OVIR in Dushanbe in the last week of December, when I'll be applying for my Pamir permit? I've seen that Christmas was banned in Tajikistan a few years back and that the only national holiday is 01 January, but wanted to double check. Also, is it likely that the availability of public transport (bus/shared taxis) on the Pamir Highway will drop in the first two weeks of the year?

In my opinion it should be business as usual.
