Travel routes

Hello!

I have a long holiday for the Chinese New Year, so I am planning on visiting Uzbekistan for sure. However, I am also contemplating going to Tajikistan and/ or Kyrgyzstan as well.

I am worried about travel logistics in Tajikistan, especially since I would go there in February.

I was thinking of spending ~6-7 days there. Theoretically, I would travel from Samarkand--> Panjikent, Panjikent--> Dushanbe, Dushabe--> Khujand, Khujand-->Osh. However, I have heard conflicting reports about roads and train routes being open during this time of the year.

Does anyone have any ideas/ recommendations regarding this issue? Would it be possible to pursue these routes now? Or would it be best to just skip Tajikistan and try to go at another time?

It should be possible to travel by road throughout Tajikistan (there are no railroads on this route), though it's possible roads may be closed if there is recent heavy snow (as is true pretty much everywhere).

Nobody can tell you for sure if those roads in Tajikistan will be possible to travel or not when you'll be there in winter.
Usually roads are fine to travel. But there are strong snow falls often. So from time to time the roads can be closed.
It's just not possible to predict right now what the weather conditions will be on the roads in February. The weather in the mountains changes very often and snow storm can happen unexpectedly.
Some roads are cleaned after snow very quickly but if too much snow a road can be closed for a few days.
You'll need to check the weather forecasts in February.

You do not have enough time to go to Pamir, I think, but you should be able to get to Dushanbe and Khujand. The road between those 2 cities is the most important one in Tajikistan so it won't be kept snowed in for days, they will clear it quickly.
