Info from travel agent in Ashgabat: while no official confirmation exists, there are rumours in TN that government is planning to restart *some* international flights and open *some* border crossinga between January and March.

Berdy announced he is giving up power and his son is taking over (turns out Turkmenistan is kingdom, who knew). Turkmenistan even during their sham presidential elections (99 percent for glorious leader) in past never issued visa, it certainly wont reopen borders when transition of power is still in works so most likely, no dice for this year. Maybe next one.

Such a pitty.... with Azerbayan also being closed it makes it impossible to take the ferry from Baku to Aktau neither...

But as it seems we will not be able to go any further than Iran...

Depending on your time limit, rules changing many times and probably ferry over caspian will go run again in future.

You need nothing now. All the border are open in Kazakhstan. Just a pcr test

Unless something big changed, that is not the case. You can fly in without IDC if you are from selected countries. However for land or sea crossing IDC is requires as KZ London embassy confirmed to me few weeks ago.

KZ french embassy told me it's not necessary. But how can you ask and receive your IDC ?
