Does someone has information on crossing the border from Iran to Turkey these days as a third country citizen? The Auswärtiges Amt in Germany writes that the border is only open for locals. Is this information true or outdated?
Austrian and Swiss foreign ministries don't write about this.
Also: Turkish airlines write that there is no PCR required flying (don't want to, but suppose for the land border the rule would be the same?) from Iran to Turkey (if you are vaccinated), but the Austrian foreign ministry says that there is a PCR needed... Which information is here true?

French nationals are authorized to enter Turkey by air, sea and land borders, with the exception of the borders with Iran. It is strongly recommended to check the regime in force in other countries neighboring Turkey before considering crossing the land borders.
Police checks (with thermal imaging cameras) are carried out at the administrative borders of the provinces.

If you're stuck on the Iranian side of the border, maybe there's still the option of traveling from Iran to Iraqi Kurdistan to reach then their border with Turkey? (or through Armenia and Georgia, even tho it's a longer route)

Yeah, that options are possible but way more time consuming and I couldn't find information whether there is a PCR test needed to enter Iraqi Kurdistan from Iran or not. Recently on a twitter report a guy was asked for a PCR entering Iraqi Kurdistan from Turkey (although nobody checked the result later lol).

Yeah, that options are possible but way more time consuming and I couldn't find information whether there is a PCR test needed to enter Iraqi Kurdistan from Iran or not. Test required officially but as to whether anyone checks it? Who knows. If you dont have one and they do check guess where you are going?

The gave me also a insurance card for 2000 dram. If you want you can give more than 2000 and the rest will be inside your card and you can also withdraw rial from the Zamin bank.

Did you mean credit/debit card? Whether you meant this or the other, is it possible to arrive at the border without an insurance policy and buy one there? I really need to know beforehand, for otherwise it might be difficult to come back to some city and search for an operator to make one.
