Or know something whether there have actually been arrests of european citicens?
Dozens, maybe hundreds. These are mainly european citizens with close personal ties to Iran, not tourists though.

As a tourist, the risk is much lower, but not zero. A well-known case is Louis Arnaud https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67360438 (and he is not the only one).

I still agree with bwv812 that your risk of ending up in a car accident is higher than getting locked up. Up to you in the end.

Hello everyone
do we have statistics of how many Europeans actually travel to Iran monthly? I would really like to go, but every diplomat I meet (because I do) tells me to absolutely not do this, that the risk of being put into jail increases - I had a glimpse of hope following the presidential election but after the missile on haniyeh i am backtracking again… I am French and Swiss planning to enter Iran with my Swiss passport, in a little more than a month.
cheers

Hi,

I have the same concern. I am in Pakistan at the moment and I am not sure if going to China or Iran.
If anybody is better aware of the actual situation, it would be nice to know.

Hello, you have to be prepared for constant passport checks and question and answer sessions with civilian officials. You will have the feeling of being constantly followed. That has been the reality for the last 3-4 weeks.

I may not be the first one asking this but anyway - is it safe to travel to Iran solo?
It is safe. The biggest danger is traffic & car accidents. I was there solo in March and I don't think that it has changed that much since then.

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

Political situation (internal & external) has changed a lot.
