Hello Caravanistan,

Me and my family are planning to visit Iran in 40 days (we are iranian citizens) from Antalya (we live in Romania, but we decided to continue our trip to Iran after our vacation ends).

Is there any recent updates regarding Gurbulak - Bazargan ? Any ETA when the borders will open up?

Do we need a PCR test in advance or vaccine in order to avoid quarantine?

We've been informed that they are currently closed for tourists after contacting both borders.

During the Coronavirus outbreak, Iran’s borders have been closed to foreign tourists, and tourist visas have not been issued. During this period, only medical and business visas of Iran have been issued to applicants.

But now, due to the increasing speed of vaccination in recent weeks in Iran, it is predicted that Iran’s borders will be reopened to international tourists very soon."

Iranian tour operators have been saying this since March last year.

It's said from Oct 23rd the tourist visa will be issued again but keep in mind in Iranian system they play with words nothing is fixed. check the evisa.mfa.ir link as soon as it's tourist visa section is open again you can apply.

I just read a blog post of a German tourist, travelling with a normal camping car.
He entered Iran successfully yesterday from Kurdistan.

You know how he got a visa? I couldn't find it/my German is not super good.

I have no idea. He only wrote that some days ago in Kurdistan he went to the Iranian embassy to have his visa verified....
