Where would I check on the official word?

Try to find an operating embassy, like in Islamabad, because you need a visa and probably cannot be issued on the border.

Hello everybody.

I am finding some very mixed information on the status of the border between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, the Friendship bridge between Termez and Hairatan.

While Caravanistan says that it is closed, the last update is from July 2022. The very small handful of articles I have found from after this have shown a new trade centre in Termez where Afghan citizens can go Visa-free, so it definitely must be open to some capacity. In another thread on this forum, somebody mentioned an Austrian YouTuber having recently crossed through this border.

If anybody has recent information, it would really be appreciated.
