Getting a residence permit
Hey, couldn't find much about this on the forum here, I'd be interested in hearing about possibilities/experiences in getting a residence permit, preferably in the Stans or alternatively the Caucasus (or if you know of anything else nearby that might also work, Mongolia maybe?). Anything besides the obvious i.e. marriage/having a job there. I've known about Georgia as a relatively easy option, but they've changed their laws somewhere last year and it is no longer so. The 1-year tourist visa still exists but I'm specifically looking for residence. Ideas?

Re: Getting a residence permit
Even people who are married and have a job do not have residence permits in Central Asia. So I would try somewhere else.
