Spanish and German nationalities. April 2022.

Our experience was similar to what Jeremie described above in the comment.
The process for success:
- Get your Authorization code/grant notice from an Agency (we got ours in a week through Key2persia)
- Print the grant notice
- Write down your phone number on the grant notice (we had a Turkish phone number)
- Hand in the printed grant notice with the phone number at the consulate door (Monday to Friday). This is the process the two men at the door follow.
- Visas are delivered from Tuesday to Thursday 9-12am.
- You can wait until they call you or do as we did and call them upfront. (Beware that during Ramadan, most probably less people are working and as it happened to us nobody could attend us in English over the phone)
- Once you confirmed with them over the phone, go to the consulate, from Tuesday to Thursday.
- The two men at the door will check in the pile of papers for your grant notice (now with remarks) and let you in. Hand over your phone, after, they will give you already a number to wait in line)
- Give you passport at the counter+grant notice
- Pay with credit card directly there( we both payed 75€ each-1200Lt at the time)
- Receive your visa (printed on a A4 size page)

* Just as a side comment, remember if you are a woman to cover your head to enter the consulate.

very useful info, thanks.
How long is the visa for once you have entered, and how many days you have to enter the country ?

I received my visa today and the procedure took less than 10 minutes.
Go to the special entrance marked "Visa section", show the grant paper and your passport, pay 1450 TL (credit cards accepted) and walk out with your visa in hand. Easy and friendly. English and German spoken.

February 2024 - 2 French people
Our experience :
- We applied on internet with the help of an agency (Irun2Iran - 15€/person)
They collected the documents + made the invitation letters + applied for us + sent us the authorization letters when they were ready (we got them few days after applying)
- We had selected the Iranian Embassy in Istanbul to pick up the visa, but we couldn’t find any official information regarding pick up days and times of opening (no information on internet, not answers to our phone calls)
- We went there directly. It was closed because of Iranian holidays (there was a note on the door)
- We came back the day after (a Friday)
A guy who speaks English was staying there, he sent us directly to another building : the office of an agency that helps to apply for visa.
This English speaking guy in the street may belongs to the agency (he brought a lot of people to the agency)
-It was not useful for us to go to this agency (we already applied and got our authorization letter), except that we learnt from them that the visa office is only open on Tuesday and Thursday (no idea of the time)
-We came back in the next Tuesday and arrived at 8:15pm, around 10 people were there already. We guess it was supposed to open at 9:00 but only opened at 9:15/9:30 (around 30 people were in the queue)
Once inside we provided these documents : authorization letter, copy of passport
We could pay by card directly there - 5100tl (150€) for 2 people (no cash was accepted) - we realized that the agency asked for an urgent visa so 75€ each
We went out with our visa (paper + electronic by email)
