Hello,

Planning a trip to Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan later this year, and I love that this site exists! Re transit visas - is it possible to get a transit visa if we are arriving to (or flying out from) Ashgabat from London (via Moscow or Istanbul, or wherever)? For example, if we land in Ashgabat, and then travel on land to Uzbekistan? Or are transit visas only if you are passing through by land?

Just in case, if you are for instance a Kazakh (visa-free for Uzbekistan) and would want a transit visa for Turkmenistan, Turkmen embassy staff would understand that.

Same for transit visas in other countries.

Azerbaijan airlines offers cheap flights tickets to Aktau (Kazakhstan) and bicycle goes for FREE (need to be in a box though).

For those who do not get transit visa. Also a better option to caspian ferry (highly unreliable) and not that cheap.
