Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Tehran

We (Dutch couple) applied 20th of May and our visa got rejected today. We found out via email and Whatsapp. After calling, we got the same answer as Foodinmybugs (previous post). The lady added that all the forms are checked on mistakes and it’s not our fault but that these rejections are quite random. (?) We have to find another route.

Succes! We (Dutch couple) received a 5-day transit visa
We're traveling by using public transport and hitchhiking.

Applied: 28th of May
Confirmed: 9th of June (Called +98 21 9103 9001, after +/- 20 sec you need to dial 111)
Pick-up: 13th of June in Tehran

In Tehran we needed:
- passport
- 2 passport photos
- COLOUR copy of our passport
- COLOUR Application form
(important that you save the file first and then fill in everything, handwritten is NOT allowed, you must generate a personal QR code)
- Letter written with a short note about your route in Turkmenistan (see attachment)

Note: You can ONLY change the date of entry in Turkmenistan, not the entry/exit point, these are fixed.
When we applied the entry date was the 16th of June, later on while picking up the visa in Tehran we changed this to the 24th of June.

We paid 10 USD while applying and 45 USD during the pick-up. (When you want to pick up the visa in Mashhad it's 10 USD more)
The young lady who works at the embassy is really friendly and clear, smooth process!

Entry point: Bajgaran/Howdan
Exit point: Konye-Urgench

Chinese passport, got 5 days transit visa.

Applied 2 of June in Tehran, 9th of June called them and got answer, 13th of June picked it up in Mashhad.

I want to apply for a transit visa, but the link on the site is not working. I do get on the migration site, but when I open the PDF I get this message:
PEASE WAIT .... The form does not open. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I get the form?

You need Adobe Reader to open the form.

I applied today in Teheran.
They have a new form which you need to bring with you!
They don’t hand it out ...
You can get it from: http://migration.gov.tm/en/
Go to “foreign citizen” -> “Visa Registration and extension” and then download the pdf and fill it out.
At the end press the “generate qr code” button.

Example of how to fill out the form:

The person in the counter pointed out that the “inviting party” is very important (just copy the name from the example).



2nd page

You also should have an application letter for your transit visa in a specific form:

When you come by bike, motorcycle or car you should write this also.
They give you a form to fill out and you need to have 2 passport pictures and a colored copy of your passport.
And of course pay 10 Dollars

Have u got your visa approved.

Does anyone know what to write in the "inviting party" column in visa application form. Is it really mandatory? What should I write? Also the "etrap" of the Hotel we stay. I checked online to find it. But I couldnt. I'm planning to write Ak Altyn hotel in the form. Sent messages to some couchsurfers in Ashgabat. But even they are giving different names. Confused !!!

I want to exit Turkmenistan from Farap, using bus or train. What should i choose?

Awto stands for car, D-YOL stands for train.

hello, we want to apply for the turkmenistan visa and just have some questions left for filling out....
as we are cycling, the Awto or D-YOL isn't correct for us ( enter and exit border).... anyone has experiences what to chose?!
And what to fill out by point 33 - 35?? Velayat - Etrap and Adress of stay??
on the example file its empty, but there is also a * .... which always means that you have to fill in.
