LOI for transit visa Uzbekistan ?

Post by Fleur »

Hi team,

On the embassy website it is stated that a LOI is required for Uzbekistan transit visa, however on your website it says the LOI is not required. Has this been changed ?

Thanks for the support!

Hi Fleur,
which embassy? Transit visa is embassy's competence only, travel agents cannot provide LOI for transit visa (as far as I know). Let me check the website - and I will consult the Ministry

Hi,
I've crossed Uzb. this summer, with my car.
No LOI required to obtain my visa (in Paris).

Don't think roro was on a transit visa, however.

No, it wasn't.
But is there a difference (about LOI)?

Hi there,
I have official response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - LOI is NOT needed for transit visa. Transit visa is competence of the embassies only, none of travel agents can provide visa support for transit visa.
The embassy in Brussels does say that LOI is needed - most probably a mistake, or ... no idea.

Transit visa for Uzbekistan

Post by Gunnar »

Hi! I'm planning to enter Uzbekistan from Tajikistan, and exit to Afghanistan. If I apply for a transit visa, a LOI is not necessary, but I've read several places that applying for an Uzbek visa without a LOI normally will take much more time.

Is this the same for an Uzbek TRANSIT visa?

I'm planning to apply from the embassy in Almaty. I have already got my Tajik and Afghan visas. (Since I'm planning to travel overland to Afghanistan, I don't have any flight ticket out of Uzbekistan.)

Will I save time by having a LOI, even for a transit visa?
