Embassy report: Iranian visa in Baku, Azerbaijan

Postby levelo » Thu Sep 15, 2016 6:58 am

Mid-September 2016. French passport.

The consulate in Baku is a great place to pick up your Iranian visa.
I had my reference number which I think they need.
Very kind, helpful and English-speaking staff. It is very well-run.
I filled in the form, gave one picture, my passport and paid 50 euros for a one-month tourist visa ( the cashier/bank is on the premises, you can also pay in USD or Manats ) on day 1. Picked up my visa on day 2. As simple as that.
The consulate is reached by metro ( station Insaatcilar ). Open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1 pm.
Hope that helps.

German Passport, November 2017
We also had very good experiences in the iranian embassy in Baku. We applied for the tourist visa on Wednesday, therefore we filled out a Form, handed in our passports, a photo each (as a girl I handed in a photo without headscarf- had no problem with that), wrote down our Registrationnumber (we got it from caravanistan) and payed 52€ each, we couldn't pay it with credit card so be sure to bring it cash.
We got our passports with iranian Visa on thursday :)
Stuff was friendly and helpful.

Hi levelo, what is your "reference number"?

Hi Bienejo, I am not clear what the registrationnumber you refer to is.

Thanks!

Hi seysearles,

to get the Iranian visa you need an authorisation code or reference number from the Iranian MFA. Other CA countries would call it a letter of invitation. How to get it is detailed at the Iran visa page, linked in the first post of this thread.

Hi, we are Amalia and Marco, italian passports.
We also had a good experience to get iranian visa in Baku. We got our reference number by Caravanistan and then in Baku consulate we applied for visa. Applied monday, picked up Tuesday, very fast and easy; you need passport, and passport copy, 1 photo, and the paper of reference number (printed), that's all. You can pay directly to the consulate in manat or dollars (cash, not possible to pay with card, but any way there is a ATM machine outside near the consulate).
The consulate is very close to the Insaatcilar metro station.
Open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1 pm.
