Yes, you can. It's the normal way to do it, it's all these cyclists who complicate matters by getting it on the road. :-)

Thanks again, Steve, I'm going to try to contact Turkm consulate in Paris.
However , yesterday I've call an agency (Action visa) in Paris, to ask them if they can manage this visa for me.(I'm living 500km from Paris).
And they told me they don't work for transit visa, only tourist visa....with a Turkm agency and after with a guide in the country.

I see. I have heard of a Dutch agency that also did not want to do it. Do not know why not, but I think they are confused about the rules. Perhaps try another one? Or a Belgian visa agency? Not much of a difference to send your passport to Brussels.

Hi,

I've seen on the web site of a Belgium visa agency that I need a LOI from a Turkm agency so I suppose I have to book a tour so much expensive!
And I"ve called Turkm consulate in Paris no transit visa, only tourist visa.....

Really? No transit visa? That is news.

Somebody got a transit visa through applying by mail in Frankfurt consulate only 2 months ago. http://caravanistan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1931

That sounds like your best option then.

Thanks for this info, I'm going to try it.
But how does it work at border post with a mail and no visa on passport?

I do not recommend going to the border without a visa in your passport. But the Frankfurt consulate definitely gives you a visa as it says in the forum post. I have only heard Tashkent, Dushanbe and Vienna pulling that trick, and too many people have gotten stuck in no man's land for days for me to recommend that procedure.

Ok, it's better to know that!
I think I'll try Ankara consulate , then picking-up in Téhéran, like I did in 2015, and crossing fingers...
No other solution, I think.
