Can someone apply for an Uzbekistan visa for me? and other questions!

Hello, firstly thanks for all the great info on this site. Truly invaluable.

I am in a bit of a tight spot regarding my Uzbek visa. I live in a country with no Uzbek embassy (Yangon, Myanmar/Burma). Could a friend here in Burma take my passport abroad to an embassy (Kuala Lumpur) and start the process then bring my passport back to me? Then, some time later I collect the visa in Bangkok (or KL if that's impossible)?

Also, i found this on the Bangkok Uzbek embassy website;

2. Simplified visa procedure is established for the citizens of ... United Kingdom. Tourists of these countries can get multiple entry visas up to 1 month..... Visas shall be issued within 2 working days, excluding the day of document’s acceptance.

Is this accurate? 2 day turn around for UK passports? Is this only true at BKK?

Lastly, is the Uzbek embassy in Hanoi processing visas? I can find little info about this embassy. Does anyone know its opening times?

Also, when applying for a multiple entry, do i have to put the dates of entry and exit for the first entry, and then the second? or just the dates of entry and exit for the first entry? Thanks!

One last question I promise! If started the visa processes at an embassy next week, and went back to collect in 1 month later, would this be ok? I know most people want to collect it ASAP but I wouldn't be back in the city for another month, i'd then collect the visa and fly to UZ the next day.

Would there be any problems with such a long wait time after initial application?

1. Yes, I think so. That is how visa agencies work. You can also ask if you can send in your passport via DHL.
2. Don't know
3. Don't know, call them and ask if you find a tel number
4. Only first entry, I think
5. it's ok
6. No other problems

Steven, thank you so much for the comprehensive reply. My options and time has become limited and I now think my only option is to get a LOI and aim to get a same/next day visa in BKK in the free 3 days i will have before flying. I will post the results of what I experience at the BKK embassy in the thread.
