Hi laurent,

visa-free means no visa needed. This goes both for land borders and airports.

For future reference, this is true for every country in the world.

Hi Steven,

thanks but that case not always necessarily true. For example i dont need Myanmar visa if land in Yangon/Mandalay airport but i will need to arrange visa beforehand if enter Myanmar from Thai-Myanmar border.

For Iran i just got report from another Malaysian that they have trouble to reenter Iran, said that visa free only at the airport but again maybe it also depend on border guard

Regards,

Rio

Hi Laurent,

does that mean you do not get a visa at all in the Yangon airport? Or you get a visa on arrival in Yangon airport? If A, then you are right, first time I hear something like that. If B, then I am right.

I will look into this further.

Hi Steven,

No Visa On Arrival in Yangon, only stamp but if I going via land border with Thailand need visa beforehand (can be evisa or visa sticker from embassy)

Thanks,

Nope, for example not in Belarus (visa-free for 5 days through Minsk airport only), Russia (visa-free if entering and exiting by sea at certain ports and staying less than 72 hours) and previously not in Indonesia (visa required at certain land borders for certain visa-exempt nationals)

Hi guys,

So, does anyone has a concrete answer to this question yet? I will be travelling from Azerbaijan to Iran in October. I need to know if I need to apply for a visa beforehand.

Thanks.

I don't know. I thought it was visa-free at the land border as well, but laurent_rio said it was not sure. So now I do not want to give an answer either way, since I am not sure.
